Melanie Brill

Melanie J. Brill is a Senior Associate at Dunay, Miskel and Backman, LLP, practicing in the firm’s Real Estate group. Melanie has been practicing commercial real estate law for over 25 years and handles all types of sophisticated commercial real estate transactions. She represents developers, investors, lenders and users of commercial real estate in the acquisition, financing, development, leasing and sale of hopping centers, office buildings, mixed-use projects, resort properties and single-occupancy structures. Melanie has extensive experience in the area of retail development and shopping center law. Having negotiated and drafted numerous purchase and sale agreements, financing documents, leases (shopping centers, malls, retail, build-to-suit and ground leases) for some of the most prestigious shopping centers in the country, large grocery anchored centers, mixed-use projects and major single tenant projects, she has a deep understanding of the acquisition, disposition, development and leasing issues. Melanie has also drafted and negotiated a multitude of reciprocal easement agreements, operating agreements and developer agreements, and provides clients entering into these types of transactions with a firm understanding of the standards and customs associated with obtaining maximum benefits and protections.

Melanie has served as Legal Counsel of the Fort Lauderdale/Boca Raton CREW Network from 2016-2017.

Melanie is a 1987 graduate of Rutgers University, where she majored in communications. She earned her Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1992.
